The Kartar GlobeTrac 5036 2WD is a 50 HP tractor whose main distinction is the reversing arrangement. Kartar combines a 3120 cc, 3-cylinder Kirloskar engine with a synchronised forward/reverse shuttle. This is worth comparing when repeated changes of direction matter more than having the highest hydraulic-lift number in the range.

What the shuttle specification actually says

The current table describes collar shift with synchronised forward/reverse selection, 8 forward and 8 reverse gears, and a dual clutch. It does not describe a clutchless power shuttle. Ask the dealer to show the prescribed clutch, stopping and direction-change sequence. The brochure’s Carraro synchro-shuttle label should not be expanded into a claim that every gear shift is synchronised.

A farm with short working runs can assess the controls during a representative demonstration. Count the actual changes of direction and check whether the operator can select the required working gear comfortably. More reverse ratios do not themselves increase acres per hour, and they do not authorise reversing an attachment at an unsuitable speed.

The lift trade-off deserves attention

The published Category II ADDC lift rating is 1400 kgf, not the larger rating found on some other Kartar models. Compare the complete loaded attachment, its centre of gravity and the approved front ballast, not just engine power. A buyer choosing a heavy mounted drill may reach a handling limit before the gearbox becomes the deciding feature. External hydraulic requirements also need a separate flow-and-pressure check.

The brochure’s 2WD column specifies 1990 kg including accessories, 2010 mm wheelbase and a 55-litre tank. The other drive version has different mass and front tyres. Keep the two quotations separate; a photograph of the front-driven axle is not evidence that it is part of this rear-drive package.

Economy PTO is a separate decision

Kartar lists standard and economy PTO modes. Have the supplier identify the permitted workload and engine setting for each; no universal fuel-saving percentage follows from the economy label. Use the shuttle and synchromesh guide to compare control layouts, then request clutch adjustment instructions and local transmission-service support before ordering.

Indicative price in India

Checked 15 October 2026: TractorKarvan lists ₹7,61,000–₹7,94,000 ex-showroom for the 5036 2WD. This is an indicative India-wide portal range, not a manufacturer offer or a quote for a named state or district. Confirm the steering, tyres, PTO options and exact build before comparing a dealer price. Request insurance, registration where applicable, transport and accessories as separate quotation lines; the cited range is not an on-road total.

Our verdict: Kartar GlobeTrac 5036 2WD

Verdict by the Aglist editorial desk

The 5036 is a meaningful alternative to a conventional two-reverse-gear tractor when direction changes dominate the work. Confirm the shuttle’s operating sequence and attachment handling first; its relatively lower lift rating may matter more than the extra reverse ratios.

Kartar GlobeTrac 5036 2WD — Frequently asked questions

Is the 5036 a clutchless power-shuttle tractor?

The cited manufacturer specification says synchronised forward/reverse with a dual clutch. It does not establish clutchless direction changes.

Is its lift rating 1800 kgf?

No. The current page and brochure give 1400 kgf for the covered model.

Do more reverse gears guarantee faster fieldwork?

No. Measure the real task, including turns, gear selection and attachment constraints, in a suitable demonstration.
