The Swaraj 825 XM is a single-cylinder, 1537 cc tractor in the manufacturer's 20–30 HP category. Its important distinction from a narrow orchard machine is its published 1700 mm overall width and conventional farm-tractor layout. A low power category does not automatically mean it fits between close crop rows.

Check the task before choosing a low purchase price

The listed single dry-disc clutch, mechanical steering and 8-forward, 2-reverse gearbox define a relatively straightforward control package. Have the intended driver try the steering and gear access during a dealer demonstration. If repeated headland manoeuvres dominate the day, comfort with these controls matters more than assuming that fewer cylinders mean easier operation.

Match the PTO and linkage separately

The official specification lists standard 540 rpm PTO and a three-point linkage accepting Category I and II implement pins. A matching pin category is only one compatibility check: the attachment still needs suitable power, shaft connection, working speed and clearance. Keep the lift rating in its stated location

Swaraj quotes 1000 kg at the lower link ends. An attachment whose centre of gravity lies farther behind the tractor is not equivalent to a load at those ends. Ask the supplier to approve the loaded implement and required ballast. The tractor's published 1850 kg mass is not a trailer payload or towing approval.

Compare it with the right alternative

Put the 825 XM beside the existing 724 XM on your shortlist, but compare their actual dimensions, clutch and PTO package rather than treating them as the same small tractor. Measure the shed approach and attached implement as well as the bare machine. For seasonal use, obtain service costs and estimate annual hours before deciding whether buying this package is more useful than hiring the operation.
